Mark is the lead writer and managing editor of the UN and global affairs blog UN Dispatch. Since he started anchoring UN Dispatch in 2006, the blog has emerged as an authoritative source of news and opinion on international affairs.  He manages a roster of six writers from around the world who offer timely insights on security, human rights, international development, health, global women's issues and climate change.  UN Dispatch is sponsored by the United Nations Foundation.

From 2011-2014, Mark consulted for PSI's Impact blog, a site that offers news on international development and global health from the perspective of Population Services International.  After just one year, the site's traffic has grew10 fold and in March 2012 the blog was awarded Best Non-Profit blog award by PR News.

In 2014, Mark launched the new Global Dispatches Podcast. Available on iTunes and posted to UN Dispatch every week, Mark conducts in-depth interviews with key foreign policy influencers. The interviews offer listeners a glimpse into the intellectual history and formative experiences of journalists, policy makers, activists and others who shape how we think about foreign policy and global affairs.
